Puppy Kindergarten officially started on May 15, but that was strictly a parent-orientation night, so the girls' first day of school wasn't until last Thursday. After a week of training them to walk on a loose lead (which didn't go too well) and "watch me", the girls were ready for their big day:
Here is our "First Day of School" shot.
Clearly not everyone is excited about the prospect of Puppy Kindergarten.

We didn't take any pictures during class, mainly because it's tough to hold a camera when you have a leash in one hand, a treat in the other, and you're trying to get your dog to sit without actually saying "sit." Fortunately, all our practice during the week made Izzy and Emma pass all their tests! That's right, they knew "watch me" and picked up on the nonverbal "sit" and "watch me" commands too. The girls were even used as examples a few times! Class was so exhausting that the girls actually walked nicely out to the car, instead of pulling us to the ground:
If puppy school is this tiring, I think we should do it every day!
"Watch me...good dogs!!!"

At the end of the day, the poor babies could barely summon the energy to eat their supper. School is hard work, but we had fun and even made some new friends: Abby the poodle and Velvet the pomeranian. I can't wait for next week!
Homework for the week: "watch me", nonverbal "sit", and walking on a loose leash.
